Welcome to the profound world of Kumano Kodo (Ohechi route), a road steeped in ancient Japanese tradition and history.

Our inn is part of the beautiful Kumano Kodo (Ohchi route), where you can experience a glimpse of its mysterious flavor. The Oheji is a 92-km road that has been used for the traditional Kumano pilgrimage since ancient times in Japan. It has been visited by pilgrims since ancient times and has been loved by many people as a place to quietly face nature.

Especially during the Edo period (1603-1867), the scenic beauty of Ohenoji attracted many tourists, and many people chose this route for their pilgrimage. The same scenery still remains everywhere today, and Ohobeji is deeply engraved in the hearts of visitors as a place where history and nature are in beautiful harmony, and where they can travel to heal their souls.

The inn has served as a boathouse for ferry boats since ancient times, transporting many people and providing them with a place to relax while waiting for the boats. The ferry boats are a part of the Kumano Kodo, and the inn is a building that has inherited its history.

The history and the warm atmosphere of our inn will allow you to enjoy a comfortable space that maximizes the charm of the Kumano Kodo.

At our inn, you will experience the history and traditions of the Kumano Kodo, and enjoy a memorable travel experience. The good old Japanese atmosphere and the mysterious world of the Kumano Kodo Road await you.

Communicate a wide range of local attractions

The Kii Peninsula has numerous tourist resources, but the Koza area is by no means a dominant spot.
The former town of Koza had more than 10,000 residents in 1955. However, the number has continued to decline and now stands at around 4,000.
There are many good things in the area, but …….

We want to communicate as broadly as possible the attractions within this Koza area.
We hope that by informing you of the charms of the area, we can lead to repeat visits to the Koza area.

It does not have to be a repeat visit to our inn. It is our hope that our guests will stay at other hotels in the Koza area.
We believe that the revitalization of the region will increase the attractiveness of the Koza area and ultimately lead to more visitors to our inn. We hope that we can contribute to the revitalization of the area by making as many people as possible aware of the area’s charms.

Therefore, we are willing to make introductions to local lodging businesses with whom we might have a competing relationship. We hope that each of our clients will be able to use our services according to their own needs.
Please read more about the charms of the Koza area on our “If you are in Nanki!” page.
